There are evil people in this world, and there is only one way to deal with them. Wes Holt believes in being tough on crime, and even tougher on criminals.

At the same time, there are good people who make mistakes or find themselves on the wrong path. Treating every person as a hardened criminal can turn a temporary setback into a lifetime of consequences.

Law enforcement walks a fine line. Wes believes in enforcing the law with strength and consistency while never losing sight of our shared humanity.

Attacking Recidivism

Too often, law enforcement encounters the same individuals over and over again.

Even when offenders are arrested, they are eventually released. With overcrowded jails and prisons, we must ask ourselves whether we are doing everything possible to make our communities safer in the long term.

Wes believes public safety is about more than making arrests. It means reducing repeat offenses by partnering with organizations that address the root causes of crime, provide meaningful support, and help people become productive members of the community whenever possible.

Safer communities are built by holding offenders accountable while creating opportunities for lasting change.

Wes has spent years building relationships with law enforcement leaders, prosecutors, state agencies, and public safety partners across Arkansas. Through his work training officers statewide, overseeing Arkansas's 988 crisis line, and leading We Are The 22, he has developed a network that benefits Poinsett County.
